For day 3, Clouds.
Much better clouds, this was taken in the morning. I just love the shape and the texture.
Added contrast so it would pop a bit more.
So what do you see?
Enjoy

Week 12 - Project 52
I had this idea for a self portrait a few weeks ago, but of course couldn't do it until this week.
If it's not raining during the night time I will do a load of washing and hang it up at night time to dry (as i said weather pending).
Well I was hanging up towels, hence the movement. But I thought it would also be fun with sparklers. The exposure is only 30 seconds, the only light was that from my sparkler, the moon, and a street light about 30 meters away. Only a bit of pp'ing.
I'm aware that i cut off the top of the 'circle', but I like it all the same.
And yes I had to write backwards, but i'm a pro at that

Week 11 - Project 52
I actually had 2 images for week 11. I wanted to do something different for Kayla. So I did feet. But the more I look at it the more I don't really like it.
I will show it anyway.
I'm not liking the focus, and the post processing, and I don't think the wood panelling works. The other image I had, which at the time I didn't like as much as this one is:
Kayla had a hard time getting the 4 (for her age), but I really like the dof, and her face still has enough detail. So this image is the official week 11 image.

Week 10 - Project 52
Wow I'm a bit behind. I didn't mean for that to happen. I thought I had posted them but then I realised that I only posted them on the AP website.
So here is week 10 - Miles.

I used this image to write my own action. I learnt a lot with photoshop, but it's a good way to learn. I took elements from my favourite actions (written by other people), and wrote them into my own action. So I need to credit the pioneer woman and the coffeeshop blog for inspiration.

Week 9 - Project 52
While out walking I found some roses. I actually didn't know they were roses, I thought they were pretty, and I was like "hmm theses will be good to photography for macro week". While picking them, it was then I realised they were roses... damn thorns.
Well had a play around with lighting and with a spray bottle (to get the droplets).

Week 8 - Project 52
Week 8 is self portrait week.
I know I have mentioned this before but I need a remote, doing self portraits are a pain.
Also tested out a new action, and I have to say i like how it turned out.

Week 7 - Project 52
This image serves a couple of purpose.
1. future photographer in the making
2. testing out custom white balance with an 18% gray card
3. testing out the new white backdrop

Oh and it has just occurred to me that this is the 1st landscape image i've taken for this project. All my other images have been portrait way.
Kayla taking a photo of me while I take photo of her. If you want to see her image, let me know and I'll post that too.
The white backdrop has come out sort of grey, but I like it. And I'm also loving the gray card, now that I know how to use it.

Week 5 - Project 52
While down in Melbourne at my parents new house, we found this playground close to their new home. Wow this playground is cool, but not really designed with under 5's in mind.
The slides are huge (I even went down one, and it was so much fun, but scary!)
This is Kayla going down one of the slights. I really like the composition of it. I have it more of a vintage processing (as it had a vintage feel to it anyway).

I was fooling around with the left over hundreds and thousands. I think I might try it with a black background rather than white. I'm not too sure if I like it.
Anyway week 4 was Macro

I prefer the bonus image instead.

Miles you make me laugh. But what is not to love about my lil boy.

Week 3 - Project 52
This weeks theme is Self Portrait.
I was planning on doing a more studio style set up, but I had already packed way my studio from the smash cake session that I had this morning. So I winged it a little.
So here is the woman behind the camera, quite literally too :D

The focus might be a bit soft as I had to manual focus, as the remote doesn't work (only for the flash), so getting the correct camera remote is next on my list.

Week 2 - Project 52
Today I was testing out the new fake flooring that I picked up a couple of days ago. I'm so in love with it! This will make doing smash cakes a lot easier. I still need to get more absorbent backdrop like the black. I find the ones that I made, make more work for me, cause I have to iron them, and then clone, clone, clone in post production. I love the black cause it really makes images POP!

Miles Smash Cake
Miles never had a smash cake when he turned 1. So I figured I would wait until he turned 2 and do it for him then. I figured that since he loves food so much it would be a piece of cake (pun intended). Well be became a bit overwhelmed. I don't blame him, I mean I had the backdrop set up and I had my lighting kit (new, as I was trialling it out, and I'm in love with it, makes the light look really natural and not artificial). So for some of the images I had to sit with him, and let me tell you it's very hard to take photo's with your son sitting in your lap. Thank goodness I had my sister on hand, I set the camera all she had to do was press the shutter. So I got some shots at least.
Kayla also wanted to be apart of it (for the cake). So you may see her dress or foot etc in some of the shots but I don't mind.

So here is the photo(s) of the week. Miles Smash Cake. I have decided to do a storyboard with this one, because there was more than 1 image that I liked. I will eventually print these off in a book. Oooh which reminds me I need to finish off last years book so I can get it printed.
