Last few weeks
I see 2012 as a very exciting year for MiCreations.
So stay safe everyone, and enjoy you break, because I know I will.
Take care,

Nearly at the end of this project.
Miles again. This time on the swing (he loves swings), at the Horsham Botanical Gardengs Playground.
Again a snap shot, but I love it all the same.
Enjoy,
Matilda
w47
Yes I cut off Miles feet, but you know what, I love the image all the same. Sure it's a snap shot. Not all snap shots have to be perfect (if this would be perfect I would not have cut off the feet, and I would have not used shutter priority (it's not quite auto).
I also processed this image with a whimsicalness dreamy feel to it.
Enjoy,
Matilda
w46
When I took this photo the settings were way off. However I wanted to capture the moment, so I didn't bother looking at my settings. Thank goodness for editing software and me being able to recover details.
Kayla might not be looking at the camera, but that is one of the reason I love this image because she is relaxed and you can see that beautiful smile of hers.
Enjoy,
Matilda

Oliver (our cat) Loves Kayla (and vice versa). He loves sleeping on her bed. He was sleeping with her a couple of days before I took this photo, but before I could get the camera he jumped off the bed.
This time around however I saw him on the bed and happened to be very close to my camera, so he didn't see me coming and had no time to jump off.
I just love how he has his paws. It's like he is saying "she's mine".
Enjoy,
Matilda

I have not done a self portrait in a very long time. This is me. Taken with the help of the mirror in the bathroom.
Yes I normally wear glasses, but it's hard not to get that green glare, I'm still mastering that.
So no glasses in this image.
Enjoy,
Matilda

Opps... on the watermark that is. The watermark says week 42, it should say week 43. I obviously was not paying attention very well when I was saving for the web.
Anyway this shot is definitely from week 43. We were walking home from Cato Park. Miles had fallen behind so as we were waiting for him I got Kayla to sit down on the picnic bench. That's where I took this photo. I just love the bokeh, it really makes the image. And yes it was windy that day.
Enjoy,
Matilda

Yes I'm aware it's out of order, but I wasn't paying attention with my uploading.
Ok so this is from one of my sessions (as I hadn't taken any other photo's for the week... eek!).
I just love his melancholy expression.
Enjoy

The kids had just had a haircut, and wanted to get some photo's of them with their spunky new looks.
Kayla got her hair done up in braids (i'm terrible at braids, plaits I'm fine with).
Got this photo of the two of them together. I love the way it came out, captures them to a tea.
Enjoy

I wasn't aware how far behind I had gotten. I know have this on my to do list to get done, as well there is no excuse for being slack.
So that being said, is is week 40.
Miles my happy little vegemite on the swing.

It's very rarely for me to take photo's at night time. So when I had the opportunity to do time lapse, I grabbed it.

I don't have many photo's of my kids together. I have great ones of them separate, but trying to get them together is like a nightmare for me. I get really frustrated. I don't mean to but it happens (I'm sure you can relate).
Well on this particular day we went out to take some photo's. I did get some great ones. And well we were walking back to the car, and I captured this image. This was taken on auto. Yes I normally shoot in manual, however I didn't want to miss the shot, so I switched the dial and this is what I captured.
I adore this image. It reminds me of an image that I took in May 2010, which I also have as a canvas on my wall.
So yes there are no faces, but this image is so very much how my kids are.
Enjoy it as much as I do.

A blossom bud. I'm actually not sure from which tree it's from, so don't ask!
I was however really impressed how it came out. I really love the colours and the depth of field.
Taken with my Tamron 90mm Macro lens.

Catch up and other info
So what's been happening? I hear you say. Well I have been doing some 'free' sessions in my home studio. I have this great indoor kit, which I have tested out on my kiddies, but I needed some subjects. So I posted on facebook (great marketing tool), and got some sessions. I'm still after some sessions to build up my portfolio. I have a great 'outdoor' portfolio, but need to build up my indoor portfolio.
The sessions I have had are Miss H, a newborn. She was a premmie, so currently 5 weeks, but still as tiny as a newborn (she's only like 6lbs!).
Then there was Miss M. She is 8 months old, had no hair, but still adorable.
Then siblings Miss J aged 6, and her brother Master J aged 3.5.
I had a great time shooting these sessions.
I am still after the following:
Newborn baby BOY (aged 2 weeks to 6 weeks young)
Baby boy aged 4-10 months old
Girl aged 3
Boy aged 4-7
So if you know of anyone that falls into these categories, email me at matilda@lovemicreations.com for bookings.
These sessions will have the session fee waved. You will receive NO PRINTS. Prints are available for purchased however. All models (parents) will need to sign a model release as these images will be used on my website/blog/facebook page for advertising and marketing.
Images of my current sessions will soon be posted, along with my 52 project images.
Thanks for getting this far.

Day 4 - Clouds (and w 36)
Much better clouds, this was taken in the morning. I just love the shape and the texture.
Added contrast so it would pop a bit more.
So what do you see?
Enjoy
Matilda
EDIT 29.9.2011
This image is also the image of the week for project 52
Day 3 - something green
Day 3 was suppose to be clouds, but we had seriously crappy clouds, like those whispy ones, which are pathetic to photograph. So I decided to do day 4, which is 'Something green'.
I'm not too sure about the end of this one, I was after a look, and it just wasn't doing it for me, I properly would need to re-shoot at a different time of day.
Either way, Enjoy

Day 2 - what I wore today
On this particular day (Friday). I wore Jeans, a long sleeve top and my kathmandu jacket (which I ended up taking off around lunch time as it got too hot).
And my puma walkers.
I like to be comfortable when I don't have to go anywhere, and well I didn't have to be any where, so hence the extremely casual look.
Enjoy.

Day 1 - Self Portrait
There are many challenges out there. But today I came across this one (http://whitepeachphoto.com/2011/05/25/photography_challenge/), and I thought "hey why not".
So here is Day 1. A Self portrait. Processed it with a warm/mellow feel in mind.

Week 33, only 20 weeks left to go.
This weeks entry is Kayla, but from a different perspective.
I love the angle of this shot, I just wished I didn't cut off her feet, oh well next time.

It's me! Arrrrhhhhh! Run away now! No just kidding. Let me tell you it's hard to hold a camera with a speedlite attached. I took a few photo's but thought this one was the best out of the bunch.

My sweet little boy. I couldn't just pick 1 image. And I really liked his expression in theses ones, so I decided to put it together as a triptych.
I just love the bokeh in the background.

I like the different textures.

Sale
I have had a lot of clients tell me they love their photo's and would love to get more, so I figured this would be a good way for clients to get more for less.
I've gone over all the photo's, and found some that I didn't include in galleries, so I have put them in there.
Now of course there are terms and conditions regarding the sale, so here is my flyer:

Week 28
I'm not too sure about this particular shot, but it was the only decent shot I took of the week. It's a tree at the playground of Cato Park.
Either way, Enjoy
Matilda
Week 27
A building on Burke St, somewhere in Melbourne. I couldn't tell you the exact location.
I just love the abstractness of it. I love the reflection of the mirror windows, and black and white gives it more of a pop

Week 26
We were over at my Mother In Law's house. Her partner was washing the hot rod, I just love how Kayla is standing there "i'm so pretty", yes you are sweety, yes you are.

What I take on holidays - IHF Props
I had set up my new continuous lights which I had just purchased, and I was also wanting to test out my new backdrop.
I love both my new lights (protog.com,au), and my new backdrop (vinyl from spotlight $9.95 p/m).
This particular suitcase I picked up at the local op shop. I stained it a darker brown, I need to stain it again however.
I love this particular prop as it's fun to use, and kids seem to like it too.

Week 25
I processed this image with an urban feel to it (on purpose).
The kids and I were posting a letter. They are forever fighting over posting mail (so I have to make sure I have 2 things to post, one for each).
This letter box has seen better days, it's a bit battered on bruised.
Enjoy
Matilda
week 24
I've gotten a bit behind with my posting, so you will get a couple of weeks worth.
This shot was taken on 16th June and it's of my 2 kiddies. We were having a break from playing and having a snack. So yes that is food on Miles chin (typical boy).
I just love this shot though, it's so very them.
Enjoy

master a sm
Master A is the godson of one of very good friends.
The smash cake session was her gift to her sister.
Master A did a more of a lick and grab, than a real smash, but every kid is different. The most important thing is that he had a good time.
And doesn't he have the most amazing brown eyes. I can see why he is loved to bits.
Enjoy

week 23
While walking home from the playground, back to my parents house. I noticed these leaves, and thought they made a great pattern.
I also processed it in bw (see the next post).

I got my blue sky, and what a contrast it is to the rose leaves.
I used my 90mm Tamron lens (it's macro). I just love the detail in the leaves.

Because sometimes we just need to stop in our lives.
It is also 'Something beginning with S".
Would have loved to have taken the shot with a blue sky, but alas I can't change the weather to suit my needs.
w20
One thing I love about autumn are the colours. I wish I took this photo a couple of days previous (of the actually day I took it). But such is life, I should have had my camera in my bag, but alas I did not.
I just love the colours against the blue sky.
Enjoy

w18 - miles
I love this shot, so much so that I got it printed up as a canvas (which I'm now enjoying viewing on my wall).
Miles is yelling out to his sister "Kayleeeeeeeeee" so very cute.
Enjoy it as much as I do.

w17 - kayla bonus
I'm behind at updating my blog, but there is a reason for that. In a previous post I mentioned that I made a mistake somewhere along the lines, and had too many images. So I had to delete the set and upload them again in the correct order.
So this particular image (which my sister calls "Medusa hair" was the bonus for the week.
I just love the catch lights in her hair.
Enjoy

A Serious Note
I do however do not appreciate people bad mouthing me or my business. If you have an issue with ANYTHING, the please contact me directly to discuss the issues so they can be resolved. You can contact me via phone on 0410533861 or by email matilda@lovemicreations.com .
I DO NOT appreciate my name and my business being slandered on a public website, whether that is Facebook, my Blog, or even my Website.
This comes about due to 3rd party accusing me of false advertising on my own facebook page. I was not even aware of this until a client told me about the comment that they made on my page. (I saw it on the Friday, they made the comment late Wednesday evening). I have page notifier on my facebook page, but sometimes it doesn't always work, and I don't always get comments come through to my email. This particular comment I never received (and I have no idea why).
When I finally saw the comment I tired to contact the 3rd party, but I was unable to do so. Facebook is a great marketing tool, but it's not always the best for communication. It would have been better for this person to contact me directly via email or even by phone.
Oh and I was not false advertising, I had full right (and legal right at that too), to advertise the images on my facebook page. I had not done anything wrong.
So as noted previously if you have any concerns, or unhappy about anything, please contact me directly rather than comment on facebook.
Thank you.

Week 18 - Project 52
The kids had spent Easter with their dad. Let me tell you it was great to have a break away from the kids. I caught up on all my editing, but by the end of the break I was getting bored. My mother in law and her partner took me out for a drive to Halls Gap in the EH. She's had it for a while now and can you believe it, I've never been in it for a ride!
So this shot is the mirror reflector. Was trying out something different. Gave it a vintage throwback feel to it too.
enjoy

Master S Cake Smash - Sneak Peak
A cake smash is normally for a childs birthday, however I'm happy to do them whenever.
However Master S was the exception (it was his birthday the next day). And wow out of all the cake smashes I have done Master S has had to have been the most enjoyable. He loved it, he seriously smashed into that cake. He also LOVED the camera (can you tell).
And I hope his parents will enjoy the shots, cause I know I had fun.
xx Matilda
Miss L - Sneak Peak
Such a happy go lucky little girl. Ok so not so little, 18 months, but still very very cute.
And so many faces for a happy little girl.
She just loved the bubbles (but then what kids don't).
Enjoy

Miss T - Sneak Peak
MIss T is 7 weeks new, and oh so very tiny! She only just around 8lbs, but still oh so adorable.
I love photographing newborns, and Miss T although unsettled at times was still a cutie regardless.
I normally don't do sneak peaks in just black and white, but I thought why not.
Enjoy!

Master K - Sneak Peak
Second shoot for the week was the delightful 4 month old Master K.
He was a talker, and just so happy go lucky and carefree, and LOVED the camera. This little boy is such a poser! Made my job so easy that's for sure.
So hard to pick a few images for the sneak peak as there were so many that I loved. Just had to show the 'novelty' dummy though.
Thanks for looking

C Family
This was two sessions back to back.
We did the family 1st, with all the kids. This Session was tough cause it was either the girls were grumpy, or one of the boys where pulling a face, but we got there in the end.
Then it was the cake smash. Miss J wasn't really into the cake, she tasted the icing a bit and then after 5 minutes she was done. Miss G had more of a go with it and either way they did enjoy it.
B Family Sneak Peak
Up here in Stawell we have been having some fantastic weather, especially considering it's suppose to be the middle of Autumn.
This week has also proven to be an extremely busy week with 5 shoots in 3 days.
The 1st shoot for the week was the B Family out on their family home.
Master D was a bit overwhelmed and had his grumpy pants on, but we still managed to have a good time.
So enjoy the sneak peak.

week 17
The 3 of us. It's very rare for me to get a family picture of just the three of us. 1 because i'm behind the camera, not in front of it, 2 it's seriously hard to take a family photo on your own (even a tripod is a pain in the bum. and 3, not everyone is happy to take a photo. Ok so Kayla and Miles are looking off to the left (at my parents), but they have smiles on their faces, and that's the main bit.
At least you know what I look like.
I set this photo up, my sister pressed the trigger.
Week 16
Kayla looks so much older than 4 in this photo. I just love her eyes, processed it in black and white (MCP brownie sundae), to give it more depth emotionally.
Week 15
I'm a bit behind with my project. So here is week 15.
I've also decided to scrap my themes. 1 because I stuffed up and got one of them out of order and 2, there were photo's that I loved, but didn't fit the theme, and I rather put a shot that I love (hang on the wall type), than something mediocre.
This photo is of Ivy on the mortians wall. I love the texture. Processed with MCP actions to give it a real autumn feel to it.

Miss L - Smash Cake
Besides forgetting part of my lighting kit (doh!), I had and Miss L had lots of fun with this smash cake session.
Miss L has these amazing eyelashes! I mean wow, incredible, I wish I had eyelashes like that.
She was very cute, and thoroughly enjoyed the cake.
H Family
Who knew boobies and boogers could be such a laugh! Master J loved it. It helped him to relax and most importantly have fun.
Miss K was just adorable, 4 weeks young, and just adorable.
week 14 - random
I purchased some new photoshop actions during the week (MCP & Forabella), and I have been playing with the actions all week, and I'm in love.
This photo was pure luck. I had the camera out to see if I could complete a JustMommie Challenge. That didn't end up happening, but I did capture (what i think) this fantastic photo of my daughter Kayla.
I just adore how the wind has flown out her hair like that. I processed this win my new actions too, I just love how it has come out, it's just so yummy!
Oh and i'm fully aware week 2 in the month of april will be Kayla again, but that's what having a random week is all about, it can be anything, and this time around it's my Kayla.
w13 - macro
It feels like ages since I have posted something. And technically it has been over 7 days since week 12's image was taken (on the 15th March), to week 13's image (taken on 25th March. But my week's are from Saturday to Saturday. It wasn't until the the Friday before the end of the week (14th of March), that I realised that I had not taken my weekly shot!
So Here it is. A kiwi fruit. Enjoy!
